First frost advisory is here! Don’t panic—prepare with a few simple guidelines❄️

A light frost doesn’t mean the gardening season is over.

Cover tender plants with sheets, blankets, cardboard, or frost cloth, making sure the cover reaches the ground (do not use plastic). Watering the soil in the afternoon beforehand can also help protect plants overnight.

Hardy veggies like kale, carrots, brussel sprouts and spinach can handle the cold—and may even taste sweeter after a frost!

Make sure to bring in any tropical indoor plants too!🪴
