Well it's been a while since we closed due to boat issues. We now have a new boat which is in the process of a complete redo, unsure if it will be completed for the years fishing season. I will keep everyone informed. Can't wait to get out there with you all and catch your fish.

Fishing is GREAT at the moment, been out the past week and not a day went by without fish in the boat. My son caught his first Chinook though a small just over legal, still a great dinner it will make.

French creek Fishing Derby is coming up next week, if you're looking to get involved and have no boat, call us NOW and reserve 1 - 3 days before i close the days and enter myself :)
Special deal on a purchased 3 day event charter.

CLOSED FOR REPAIRS...
While removing the boat for routine inspection and repairs this weekend, I for we had alot of play in the drive leg, on closer inspection found the gimbel housing to be broke at the top steering pin. Boat went to the shop today and they are trying to repair before the weekend. I am hoping but doughtful as this is a 5 day shop time job,( must remove engine and all) so possible no fishing over the long weekend.

I did get a chance finally to do so fishing myself on Sunday, and was blessed with my own 16 pound Chinook, post pic later on.

Update:
Well after many months of looking, emailing, reading legal papers, and talking to Transport Canada (whom supposedly controls and knows ALL rules and regulations about running a Charter business), we come to find that we are not legal and need to have more certificates, SVOP, MED A3, MFA, and a C # registration. Well thanks to Heads Up Navigation Training in Victoria C , We are now compliant and 100% legal ... for that person in TC that lead us to beleave that we were working in classified sheltered waters and due to the size of our vessel we do not need the certs... good luck in your new job. Ottawa was not impressed in the email responses you sent us to ours quarries. Goes to show, keeping records of everything can save your butt.

We are in business!

Fishing has been a little slow for the larger keeper sized Chinook and the Coho are here!!! Though not legal to keep as of yet, they are averaging 3 - 8 pounds. Sunday's charter (may 2) was a blast with 2 fellows from Ontario, going home with an 8 and 9 pound Chinook. Total catch was 2 keepers, 4 lost Chinook, 2 coho(released) and 14 hake....

Today's charter was rough weather and hard to find the fish. Again 2 fellows from Ontario, catch 2 undersized Chinook, 3 Coho, 2 Hake, 1 Halibut caught in crab trap lol,, sent them home with a 11 pond Chinook from my freezer and 6 crabs...we'll see them again later this year.

Overall.... fishing is down on the larger Chinook but the action is still there, June 1 Coho becomes legal to keep and the numbers are already here... can't wait.

until next time... Happy Fishing

Well the Chinook are here! Many 12- 25 pound Chinook have been caught out front the harbor and the excitement is only beginning as it begins to look like one of our best fishing seasons so far. The fish caught earlier this month was just a taste of what is to come. There has not been a day on the boat so far that a fish was not caught. I am looking forward to seeing some big ones this summer and can't wait to see your smile as you reel it in.

No fishing today as the weather just won't allow it, cloudy, little to much wind and a moderate chop, just enough for me to say " well, I think we'll check the crab traps and call it a day" and that gave us 2 just legals. Weekend is just around the corner and weather may get better. Here's hoping.

Boats, boats, boats everywhere... the water is so flat you barely see a ripple. Was a hot one here to , temp hit 25C, feels like summer already. Crabbing was amazing, both traps full. Going to go out this weekend and try for some Halibut as there was another 35 pounder brought in today. Lots of nice big Chinook caught as well.

Checking crab traps today after dropping them in 130 feet of water turned out to be productive and a lesson at the same time. When retrieving the first pot we found it empty all but for a small Halibut struggling to get out. On closer inspection I found one of my trap doors to be damaged and stuck open, no wonder it was empty. Though the second trap was full with 7 keepers, 4 females, 6 under size and another baby halibut .
