A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to celebrate Sunset Nursery’s 80th Anniversary with us! 🌸💚

What an amazing day. It was so special to see so many familiar faces, longtime customers, friends, families, and members of our community all gathered together to help us celebrate 80 years of Sunset Nursery. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who stopped by, took part in the activities, enjoyed the BBQ, entered the raffles, shared memories, and helped make the day such a success.

A special thank you as well to Wheels of The Valley for joining us and helping make the day even more memorable with the car show. It was a fantastic addition to the celebration and we really appreciated having you be part of it!

We would also like to send a very special thank you to all of our wonderful suppliers and community partners who generously donated prizes and products for our raffles and giveaways. Your support helped make the celebration even more special and allowed us to give back to an important local cause.

Between the Charity BBQ and raffle, together we raised over $1,800 for St. Joseph’s Food Bank! ❤️ We are so thankful to everyone who donated, purchased raffle tickets, and helped support our local community.

After 80 years, days like this remind us just how fortunate we are to be part of such a wonderful community. Thank you for supporting our family business, not just this weekend, but throughout all the years.

Here’s to 80 years of Making Your World More Beautiful and many more memories still to come! 🌿🌺

From all of us at Sunset Nursery, thank you!

🌷 LET’S TALK FALL BULBS! 🌷

This week we’re talking all about fall bulbs and how to get the best spring colour from them.

We go over when to plant them, how deep to plant them, how to care for them after planting, and what to think about when choosing different varieties.

We also show off some of the exciting new bulb varieties that have arrived, along with tips for planning your garden so you can enjoy the longest flowering season possible. By mixing early, mid, and late-blooming bulbs, you can keep the colour going for weeks in spring.

Whether you love tulips, daffodils, crocus, hyacinths, alliums, or something a little more unique, now is the time to start planning and planting for a beautiful spring display.

🪱 NEMATODE ORDER COMING SOON! 🌿

This week we’re talking about nematodes, how to apply them, and why they are such a great natural option for controlling grubs in your lawn.

Nematodes are beneficial microscopic organisms that are watered into your lawn, where they work their way down into the soil and target white grubs. Controlling grubs can help protect your lawn roots and may also help reduce future populations of Japanese beetles and rose chafers.

We also go over how to apply them properly, when to use them, and why timing is so important for best results.

If you would like nematodes this season, please call us soon to reserve yours before our order is placed so you do not miss out!

🌱 THINKING ABOUT YOUR LAWN? NOW IS A GREAT TIME! 🌱
This week we’re talking about why it’s a good idea to start thinking about grass seed and lawn repair now, especially if your lawn has thin spots, bare patches, dog damage, or areas that struggled through the season.

We also go over when sod may be worth considering as an alternative to seed, and when grass seed might still be the better choice depending on your timeline, budget, and lawn conditions.

Plus, we talk about Evolve Organic Dog Spot Preventer, which can help reduce and prevent those frustrating yellow spots caused by dog urine.

If your lawn could use a little help, this video will give you some things to think about before deciding the best way to repair or improve it.

Have you noticed skunks, raccoons, or other animals digging up your lawn? That can be a good sign that grubs are present, as they are often digging to feed on them.

If white grubs have been causing damage in your lawn, now is the time to get ready for fall application. Nematodes are the most effective way to control grubs in your lawn for next season, and fall is an ideal time to apply them.

✔ Natural grub control
✔ Safe for use around people and pets
✔ Helps reduce grub problems for next season

We are putting in our nematode order this week, and only limited extras will be available, so be sure to reserve yours soon.
