One last time in the Couture Candy shop today. 🩷🍬
This place has always been very special to me. It’s never been just a candy shop…but that’s because of Lisa.
This is where I first found the courage to tell someone about my little business idea. Lisa was the very first person who knew about Kawartha Apparel before it was even Kawartha Apparel.
So much has happened since that day, and I’ll always be grateful that this was part of the beginning.
It’s never been just a candy shop. It’s been a little piece of my story.
And now, I’m along for whatever comes next… cheering you on every step of the way girl 🩷🍬ptbo

We talked alot about this over the weekend and it’s been wonderful to use this experience to look back over the last 7 years and wrap this chapter up so perfectly with this one gesture.

The week before last I had someone reach out who wanted to give back to First Responders in our community. It was a very large order and after going back and forth with a few emails, we planned the date, and Matt & I offered to deliver the thank you’s to 3 seperate bases to pass along such a wonderful and beautiful message of gratitude to police, fire and paramedics in our city.

The message, “Thank you to all our first responders for your courage, dedication and service to our community. We appreciate you more than words can say. -Anonymous 💖 “

It got Matt and I talking about how THIS was exactly how our business started: using candy to bring kindness and community to groups of people who needed glimmers, support and love to make their day brighter. 6 years ago we started by giving back to first responders and nurses. So we knew we wanted to be a big part of this new order. On Friday we got to do that again all because of an email from someone who wanted to do exactly the same thing.

This was our second last order before our retail shop closes and it really brought into perspective the amazing things we have done in this shop right to the very end because of people who know us, know our hearts and our mission, found us and gave us a shot, and used our product to make someone else’s day better…what a blessing that has been and what a true blessing it was to spend some time offering thanks and gratitude to these groups once again. It really brought it all back to what it started from and allowed our customer to bring some joy into a profession that can be hard to find the glimmers for those working the front lines as well as their families, Matt and I know this all too well.

So from us and our wonderful and thoughtful customer, thank you Peterborough Police Service Peterborough Paramedics and Peterborough Fire Services it was so nice to spend time with you all last week
