I personally own this hat now in 7 colours. I may have a problem.

Regardless, the reason I love it, is the overall vibe feels old, lived in. It reminds me of the old hats I would steal from the barn at my grandfathers with the logo of the trucking company he worked at stitched on them.

The contrast eyelits, the muted fabrics, the provisionary sensibility of our Providence patch, all combine for an easy to wear style to go back to again and again.

Red Wing 101: Oro Legacy

Quick rundown on the storied history of the Oro family of leathers from Red Wing Shoes. An iconic leather for myriad reasons, beloved the world over. You can’t beat a classic. (Espescially one that reinvents itself this many times.)

Huge shoutout to for the archival images of Red Wing catalogues from the 50s, and the photos of the various vintage iterations of Oro Russet boots.
And if you’d like to see some incredible photos comparing the old 8112 and the new 8000, has many more than the example used here. Great shots, great shops.
