so, sat was my last day for Rebecca's Place. i want to say thank you to all of my loyal customers, you have been great and i couldn't have done all these years without you. i opened in the fall of 1999 and it was a great run. i am sad, because i will miss all the people and the shopping, but i hope to have my web site up and running after a bit of a rest. as most of you know, my health has been the pits these last few years,, hence my semi retirement. i will still be doing hair part time, so feel free to call. even if you just want to say hello, i will be glad to hear from you. so for now i am off to play crib....again. i will keep in touch

Lois Dinnin

Petrolia’s “lady in the yellow coat” will walk no more.

Following an extra special Christmas with her family, Lois Dinnin (nee Wright) passed suddenly on Monday, January 14, 2013. Born in Seaforth, Ontario, she studied nursing in Guelph and then delivered two generations of babies at CEE Hospital in Petrolia. After she retired from CEE Hospital, Lois was a relentless advocate for the town of Petrolia and volunteered for the Victoria Playhouse (VPP), Communities in Bloom, Petrolia Discovery, and the IODE. Lois was an expert seamstress and great knitter with a remarkable eye for detail, style, and colour. Her most recent passion was gardening and she'd often say "You can never have too many tulips.”
In 1977, Lois lost the love of her life, Harry, “the flying school teacher”. "Loie" is mourned by her only child, Katherine (Robert) Rozman and grandchildren Natalie, Kyla, and Jordan (Sharon) and two great grandchildren, Kaila and Daphney.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013 between 3 and 6 PM at the Victoria Playhouse Petrolia, 411 Greenfield St., Petrolia. The family would like to invite friends to join them in a casual celebration sharing memories and stories of Lois' life with words of remembrance at 4 PM. Please wear something bright to honour her love of colour.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CEE Hospital Foundation and Petrolia Community Fund/VPP (SCF). Funeral arrangements are in the care of Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia: 519-882-0100. Memories and condolences may be sent online at www.needhamjay.com.

As some of you know i have had ill health for awhile, so i have come to the conclusion that it is time for me to retire from the gift industry. Rebecca's Place has had 13 great years but i am ready to go back to just doing hair and being partially retired. I will be listing it in the near future with the real estate .
