Okay how cute are these pillows??

Made from upcycled vintage feed sacks from an Ontario mill, circa 1950s. Back when they made roasted oat bags out of super soft cotton 🤯

I saw them and just loved the idea of making them into throw pillows, so that's what I did!

The bags on their own are lovely too, though... Would you rather I leave them as is, or keep pillowfying them??

(PS: DM me if you want one of your own, or come find me at the on May 30th)

Today on the wheel:

My first successful core spin!! I'm not sure how, but something clicked and I was finally able to get the hang of it after many failed attempts. Obviously, it's not perfect, but I am happy with how it turned out.

This isn't my favourite colour of fibre, but I got a whole bump of it on FB marketplace for $50, and it's 100% wool! So this is my practice fibre. I have a whole other bump of the same stuff in grey, too. It's nice to be able to try new stuff out with something a little less precious than a hand painted braid or a hand-processed fleece.

Now to try my first beehive plying adventure! Stay tuned to see how it turns out.

I'm almost done with my months-long weaving project, and I'm really excited to throw a new warp on the loom (weavers- is this the correct terminology? I keep wanting to say "cast on" but obviously that's not correct 😂).

I think next on the weaving docket will be some funky pillowcases that showcase some of the new art yarns I've been working on 😊 what do you think?
