✨Whimsical Wednesday | Stormy

There are days when the sky can't quite make up its mind.

The wind picks up. The clouds gather. The sea turns slate-grey, and suddenly the whole world feels a little wilder.

⛈️Stormy captures that delicious moment just before the rain breaks. It's deep and moody like a rain cloud. A little thunder. A little salt air. A lot of atmosphere.

☁️ What would you cast on while you wait out the storm?

✨Whimsical Wednesday | Coreopsis

Some flowers know how to make an entrance.

🌼Coreopsis doesn't fuss about it. It simply blooms in brilliant little bursts of sunshine, scattering gold across the landscape and daring you not to notice.

Coreopsis is our ode to those late-summer days when the gardens are still glowing and golden seems to be the only sensible colour.

A little wild. A little sunny. Entirely unapologetic.

☀️What will you make with a little sunshine?

Project Pick of the Week ✨

Some patterns just need the right yarn.

🎶Meet Melody Cardigan by Anna Krzyżak, paired with our Cumulus Alpaca Silk.

A dreamy combination of airy fabric, beautiful drape, and that irresistible alpaca halo.

Light enough for layering, soft enough to live in, and just a little bit ethereal.

Basically, the cardigan equivalent of a cloud you can wear.

☁️ Choose your Cumulus shade and start your Melody.

Wool* has just been slapped with an additional 50% tariff going to the USA. It seems to me to be the final nail in the coffin for the idea that exporting all our wool is the best plan (and the best return) for Canadian farmers.

This is the moment to truly reckon with how we’ve handled our national wool clip for the past 30 years and to come up with something better.

Let’s reinvest in our domestic wool processing infrastructure - building jobs and investing in rural economies.

Let’s get innovative and creative with the products we can actually make with Canadian wool to take full advantage of all the benefits of this incredible material that is a renewable resource.

And let’s work with farmers, manufacturers and designers to remind government that Canadian wool is more than just a by-product or some forgotten agricultural commodity.

The first step is to find and support the local Canadian wool already transformed and sold in your own community. (Check out Canadian Wool for the most comprehensive list)

Support those that are already doing the work - and then speak to your MLA, MP your agricultural extension agent and tell them that Canadian wool is important!

*not all forms of wool have been added to the new tariff list. Check my website for a more comprehensive look at this.

✨Whimsical Wednesday | Magnolia in Bloom 🌸

Some things simply refuse to bloom just once. The magnolia tree outside the shop surprised us this summer with a couple of late-season blooms, as if it had decided spring deserved an encore.

There’s actually a word for this: Remontancy. It's the curious habit of a plant flowering again, out of season or more than once a year.

And perhaps Magnolia in Bloom has a little of that same spirit.

We dyed it once earlier this summer, and now, quite unexpectedly, it has returned for a second bloom.

Magnolias have long been associated with beauty, dignity, perseverance, and a kind of enduring grace.

Some things are beautiful for a season.
Others are beautiful enough to become timeless heirlooms.

Here's to second blooms, unexpected returns, and the sort of knitting that might still be loved many years from now.

✨ Magnolia in Bloom — back for an encore.
