The Art of Knapping I am a knapper of authentic replica arrowheads, spear and dart points for use as jewelry or collectables.

Stone knapping is a process of reduction similar to stone carving. Chips are removed by striking a stone blank with an antler or copper billet. This process continues until the desired shape is achieved. Then fine shaping is done with antler tine or copper tipped pressure flaker. Lastly, using a pressure flaker, hafting notches are added to finish the piece.
