The Attic Thrift Shop

The Attic Thrift Shop Operated by the (all volunteer) Alberni Heathcare Auxiliary (AHCA). We do not have a website. Facebook does not allow us to say this in the "website" section.

All profits purchase Equipment for the WCGH, bursaries for students studying in the Healthcare field and aide other, local Healthcare facility needs. A charity thrift store selling: clothing for men, women and children, books, toys, house wares, small furniture, and more

We do NOT take consignments nor do we buy any merchandise. Unfortunately, Facebook lumps us in with consignment stores, we apologize for any confusion this causes. We are closed on all statutory holidays, Facebook does not permit us to state this in the "business hours' section. We accept payment by cash or debit card with a $5 minimum purchase.

Did You Know.....May 11th to 17th is INTERNATIONAL NURSES WEEK.

The West Coast General Hospital was opened on May 7th, 1913 by the Honourable Dr. Esson Young, Minister of Education in the Provincial Government. The first Matron was Miss Isabella Hill, followed by Miss Ralson.

Our hospital is no longer the twenty bed building and staff have also gone through many stages throughout the decades.
The one thing that hasn't changed is the Care, Concern and Hard Work of the Nurses that have walked many miles in the halls and tended to so many patients throughout the years.

Nurses have many responsibilities towards patient care and need to be vigilant and on point at all times. They are the Front-Line, keeping record of every nuance of a patients' care.

We, Gift Shop to WCGH and The Attic Gift Shop, honour our Nurses for their dedication to their patients.
