This October, Tartantown will celebrate 50 years in business!

It has been our absolute pleasure to serve our customers and the greater Highland community for the past five decades. The journey has been nothing short of incredible. From humble beginnings in Heather Jolley's basement, importing dance shoes, to our current third location at 708 -2071 Kingsway Avenue in Port Coquitlam, Tartantown has grown and changed while staying true to the community we have proudly served since 1976.

Whether you are a Highland dancer, piper, drummer, pipe band member, kilt wearer, or simply a lover of all things Scottish, we have always tried to make you feel welcome - both in our store and online. We were fortunate to be early e-commerce adopters, but we remain especially proud to be a brick-and-mortar shop where customers can drop in, browse, ask questions, and catch up with friends. We hope you have always found Tartantown to be a friendly and welcoming place. Styles, trends, and product popularity have all changed significantly over the past 50 years. While some things come and go, our focus has always remained on classic designs, quality products, and reasonable prices.

Most importantly, Tartantown has always been about family. Our employees are all related in one way or another, and over the years they have become knowledgeable and experienced experts in their respective fields. That family spirit has been an important part of who we are - and we hope you have felt it whenever you have visited us.

We designed our current location from an empty shell to meet our needs, and we truly feel that we have found a place where Tartantown can continue to serve our customers for many years to come.

As we look back on 50 incredible years, we are filled with gratitude for the employees, dancers, musicians, bands, families, enthusiasts, friends, and customers who have supported us along the way.
