2026 S’more Books KIDS’ SUMMER READING BINGO

[Note: a full post was written and then it disappeared into the depths of the interweb, so I will try to recreate it (and will be intermittently saving, so you might see an incomplete post—you will know it is complete when there are dates listed at the end)]

Exciting news—Launching 2026 S’more Books KIDS’ SUMMER READING BINGO

Pick up a card in store (650 Goderich St. Port Elgin), and complete reading challenges to win prizes.

Complete rules are on the card. Open to anyone 4-17 who can pick up their prizes in store. Participants can win 1 prize per category.

Prizes (sorry no personal pan pizzas (like the heavily memed summer reading program), and no plastic tubs of pennies (like the Beach Bingo of yore 🥲))
1. Complete any line to pick a prize from the very special Bingo Prize Box.
2. Complete a box and select an in stock soft cover book from the yellow section of the store (ie a kids, middle grade, or young adult book).
3. Complete a full card for a ballot for a draw to win a $50 store credit.

And in case any adults are feeling left out, we created Adult Summer Reading BINGO—exactly the same as the Kids’ BINGO just with a poorly edited title and different prizes.
For adults complete as many of the reading challenges you can for the chance to win store credit. A return with a partially completed card for a ballot to win a $25 store credit, or a completed card for a ballot to win a $50 store credit.

Draws will occur August 31st.
All prizes must be claimed in person by September 5th.
Store credit is redeemable until September 30th.

S’more Books Book Club Update.

All are available in store, from Libro.fm and from the library (in various forms depending on the title).

June is National Indigenous History month—a great time to read books by Indigenous authors (we have well over 100 to choose from in store, I only know this off hand because I was doing some database creation).
In the picture below are a small selection of books that acknowledge Indigenous history, consider the present, and find hope in the future.
