We have a post-fire update now that we have had some time for the dust to settle a bit.
TLDR: our shop is expected down for 6+ months, looking for a new space any leads appreciated, new orders are on pause, also had a break-in.
š„ Our space: Now that contractors, restoration crews, and other experts have assessed the damage, itās looking like 6 months or more before we could be operational in our current space due to the spider web of issues now stemming from the fire damage. Weāve got it mostly empty now, which feels strange to say the least. We had quite a bit of black smoke residue all over the shop which you can see in some of the pics.
š New space: Weāre actively searching for a new spot with no luck yet. If you know of a commercial space around 2,000ā3,000 sq ft, preferably the Carter Light area or somewhere not retail oriented, please send us a message. Some ideals: high ceilings, bay door. We do have commercial realtors helping, but word-of-mouth leads are always appreciated.
š New orders: Weāve been working hard to salvage and complete orders that were already in progress, but operating without a shop has been incredibly challenging. For now, weāre not accepting new orders while we work through insurance requirements, clean out the shop, and complete existing customer orders. Those commitments will likely keep us busy into July.
Once things settle down, we may reopen ordering for some services on a limited basis but we donāt know at this time if/when that will be.
š© Some insult to injury: After the fire, we were also broken into. Unfortunately there wasnāt a clear shot of the personās face on camera, but we did get a nice view of his butt crack. Heās no longer wearing red shoes, they are now black and a few sizes too big (Sheldonās) and heās also probably wearing a brown Carhartt jacket with hi-vis and a Sheldon name bar.
šš»We appreciate everyoneās patience, support, and the many messages weāve received over the past few weeks. Itās been a rough stretch with some mental whiplash, but weāre doing our best to navigate it and remain positive.
