Made friends with the Save-on Foods produce guy!
My goal is to fill these five apple boxes with donations to 2027 annual fabric and yarn sale at Garrison Curling Rink in Calgary AB. If you know me at all, you’ll know that my goal will be easy to accomplish, as I have a small Michael’s store in my basement. The 2026 Ujamaa Grandmas Annual Fabric & Yarn Sale raised gross proceeds of $222,763. All proceeds from the sale are donated directly to the Stephen Lewis Foundation Grandmother to Grandmother Campaign.
I volunteer in “Notions”, but the sale also includes:
* books and patterns (including sewing patterns galore)
* yarn / knitting & crochet accessories
* home decor (upholstery fabric and accessories)
* quilting (fabric and accessories)
* general fabric
* crafts (every craft known to man)
* hardware (sewing machines / large floor stands, etc). All the sewing machines are serviced before they are sold!
* notions (buttons, zippers, bias tape, ribbon, lace, sewing kits that we put together, thread, etc)
If you have anything to donate, just let me know and I’ll pick it up from you.
This event doesn’t sell finished items. But their “Bags, Babies, & Beyond” sale in October does and I’ll donate a box full of items I’ve made to that.
