📣 PRINCE GEORGE — THIS IS YOUR CITY, YOUR TAX DOLLARS & YOUR VOTE.
I’m sharing this for anyone who cares about the future of Prince George.
There are two opportunities this week to get informed, ask questions and hear directly from people who want to lead our city.
TONIGHT — 6:00 PM | Sandman Signature
Former Mayor Colin Kinsley, along with others running for Mayor and Council, will be speaking.
Regardless of where you stand politically, I believe this election is too important for any of us to vote without doing our homework.
Over the past year, people have been looking closely at what has been happening at City Hall, voting records, spending and budgets, property taxes, the authority given to the City Manager, the new “rain tax,” Council pay increases, development and how our tax dollars are being managed.
There are important questions we should ALL be asking:
Who voted for what?
Who supported the decisions that got us here?
Are our tax dollars being spent responsibly?
Which candidates are prepared to challenge the status quo?
Who will push for transparency and accountability?
Who is prepared to make Prince George more welcoming to development, housing and business?
And who will actually follow through once the election is over?
You don’t have to agree with everything you hear. Come listen. Ask questions. Hear different perspectives. Decide for yourself.
I see firsthand how decisions made at City Hall affect ordinary people, property taxes, housing affordability, development costs, infrastructure, investment and whether businesses choose to grow here.
These decisions affect all of us.
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10 — 6:00 PM | Hart Ski Hill
Former City Planner Nicole Fraser, who is running for City Council, is holding her campaign launch.
Nicole brings firsthand experience from inside the City planning department and has raised concerns about accountability and how decisions are made within City Hall. This is another opportunity to meet a candidate directly, hear what she has to say and ask your own questions.
Whether you’re happy with the direction of Prince George or frustrated and ready for change, please get involved in this election.
Show up. Listen. Ask the hard questions. Learn about the candidates. And most importantly ***VOTE.
Prince George belongs to all of us ❤️
