To start the week off right, we wanted to highlight our Out of Print stock✨. For clarification, the brands name is Out of Print. These items aren't actually out of print!

They carry many items such as tote bags🛍, sock🧦, bookmarks📖, t-shirts👕, and more themed around some childhood favourite books (as well as other fun designs). Some of there products we do not carry in store, but is available to order through our website www.booksandcompany.ca🖥.

Happy Wednesday, bibliophiles!
Time for another bookster spotlight; let’s talk about our illustrious PG manager Kayli.

Come November, Kayli will have been with our store for 15 years!!! She reads lots of fantasy, general fiction, horror, and whatever else grabs her attention. While fiction has her heart, she does enjoy the odd non-fiction read, particularly if it has to do with community building or communication. She also loves to find new treasures in our kid lit, young adult, and children’s sections, so you might spot her flipping through a picture book every now & then. Ask for recommendations and be prepared for a STACK of books. (To see her piles of favourite books better, go to www.booksandcompany.ca/kayli)

You’ll often find her squirrelled away in the office where she handles the majority of the events in the bookstore and up in Artspace, as well as our Local Author program. She was the one to spearhead all the gorgeous art doors you can find throughout the bookstore (painted by local artists), our blind date book box, our website, many of our processes behind the counter, and a myriad of other touches around the building. (She would also like to take credit for suggesting that we carry Needohs & booknooks. Those blew up a little more than expected.) When not at work, she is at home playing video games, making crafts, and caring for her attention-seeking cat Padmé.

She has been here through the ownership transition from Jim to Owen, helped with the rebrand from our old logo to our new ones, helped to open our sister store in Quesnel, read countless storytimes to kids who are now adults, and helped to organize some incredible performances at events in Café Voltaire, ArtSpace, & Cait’s. She loves her job & all the amazing co-workers & customers she gets to see everyday.

Today we have a very exciting upcoming release for lovers of 'Lessons in Chemistry'!

Bonnie Garmus is back with a new book coming out October 13th called 'Peck & Peck'. This novel follows a young man in his 20s figuring out how to navigate life in New York City while embracing his strong love for poetry. ✏️📖

The booksters are very excited for this release and we hope you are too! 🤩
