Struggling with mental health can be so debilitating. Intrusive thoughts, feelings of being worthless or not enough, self esteem issues, feeling like a bad mom, isolating from friends and family, feeling ashamed, wanting to just sleep all the time but then having insomnia, crying for no reason. These are among the huge list of symptoms I suffer with daily due to my MDD and GAD. Some days these symptoms are mild, while others they are more severe.
Over the last few weeks, I have been struggling pretty bad. Over the years, I have learned to hide it pretty well, although I'm not always successful.
Self-care is something that I do not do for myself. My counselor keeps pressing me to do some sort of self-care, so the other day, I decided to make myself a couple sweaters that I have been wanting to make for over a year. I did not come up with the words, but I did design it how I wanted it. I'm love how they turned out.
I need to remind myself that things will get better. Be thankful for my children, my family, our home. Tomorrow is a new day with endless possibilities. Only I can make a difference in myself. I need to be kinder to myself.
To all the people in this world struggling with mental health. Please know that you are not alone. You are loved, you are enough and you matter. 💜
