Say hello to a handsome and sassy fish that will be a perfect fish for an empty tank! Giant bettas are quite similar to their smaller counterparts, but they grow up to 7 inches!

Giant Bettas are full of personality and will get to recognize the people who feed them and will swim right up to the glass to say hello! These fish are rather intelligent compared to others of a similar size, so with the proper techniques and plenty of patience, you can teach them tricks! These fish are still territorial like their normal sized counterparts, so these fish typically like a tank all to themselves. Sometimes when you have a large enough tank and enough hiding spots, they can occasionally get along with peaceful bottom feeders like Corydoras and Khuli Loaches, but in general its recommended to stick with snails and shrimp as tank mates.

Say hello to one of the larger types of schooling fish! Congo Tetras can grow as large as 3.5 inches when given the proper environment!

Congo Tetras can get incredibly colorful when they reach maturity and have the proper care. These schooling fish do best in larger groups of six or more as they can become skittish and shy when they dont have enough friends to feel safe. They are great in many larger community tanks of 30 gallons or more as these fish are larger than average, though they can get along with most other peaceful species such as Corydoras, Neon Tetras and most live bearers. One way to really get their colors to show up is to use a high protein food such as frozen brine shrimp or bloodworms.

Say hello to a group of incredibly underrated and misunderstood fish. Goldfish in general have many colorful and fascinating variations that some look almost like a completely different species!

Goldfish are very popular in media, however, the way that media portrays them is quite different than what they actually need. These fish are all a species of carp, and these guys grow big. Even the smallest varieties need at least a 20 gallon tank to be comfortable and healthy. When you want more than one you really have to keep on top of cleaning as Goldfish make a lot of waste which can decrease your water quality quickly. With the proper care, Goldfish can be wonderful companions for your aquariums or ponds for decades to come!

Say hello to a mighty mollusk that will help curb your snail infestation! Assasin snails may be small but they pack a punch when you are struggling with pest snails.

These snails dont need much, just a steady supply of snails to snack on and they will be as happy as can be! They go beautifully in most community tanks as they dont bother fish, whether they be large or small. Assasin snails can be a perfect part of your tanks ecosystem as pest snails can be useful for cleaning up algae but tend to get out of hand, so these snails manage them beautifully. One thing to be wary of is if you have snail eating fish like Yo-yo Loaches or Clown Loaches as they will see this tiny predator as a tasty snack.

Say hello to a fish with an attitude! Polar Cichlids are a beautiful addition in a tank with other larger semi-aggressive fish!

These cichlids are a fan of plenty of hiding spots in wood and rocks near the bottom of the tank. They are perfect on their own or occasionally they can be kept in a pair with a male and a female though you have a high chance of having plenty of babies if you do have a pair. Polar cichlids are fantastic parents and will protect their fry when they hatch, though it will cause a lot more agression towards all the other fish in the tank. These fish do get decently large, about softball sized, so to keep aggression down they need a larger tank. Some recommendations for tank mates would be hardy fish with attitudes like Chinese algae eaters, bushynose plecos and other cichlids.

Say hello to a sensational cichlid that is an elegant addition to your larger tropical tanks! Angelfish are a semi-aggressive cichlid that can be a fantastic fish when paired with the correct sized tank and tank mates.

These fish are happy in warm freshwater tanks with very little current and a lot of foliage to explore. These cichlids get rather large so they need at minimum a 30 gallon tank for one of these fantastic fish. Once you have the right setup, Angelfish are seen commonly patrolling close to the top of the water column, searching for food and exploring their tank on a daily basis. They get along well with most bottom dwelling fish like dwarf plecos and cory catfish as well as peaceful schooling fish that wont nip at their delicate fins like mollies and guppies.

Say hello to a lively live bearer that is extremely interactive and curious! Mickey Mouse Platties are a specific patterned type of plattie that resembles a very famous mouse.

Platties in general are incredible schooling fish that are perfect for most sizes of community tanks. They are a live bearing species, so much like guppies, they will give birth to many live babies instead of laying eggs! So keep in mind that these fish will produce babies unless you only have all males or all females. Platties love eating your standard tropical flakes but you can never go wrong with a frozen treat every once in a while.

Say hello to an exciting eel that may be shy but is a fascinating addition to most tanks! The Yellow Spotted Spiny Eel is a slightly smaller variety of eel that is great for someone who has a mid sized tank over 30 gallons.

These eels are reclusive and spend a good part of their time hiding among plants, rocks and even under the sand, however when they do get comfortable and confident, you can find them foraging for food along the bottom of your tank! They use their long nose to track down any scraps of food in crevices and in gravel, though they can be somewhat picky with their food. Yellow Spotted Spiny Eels eat mainly frozen fish foods like brine shrimp, tubifex worms and blood worms, but they also sometimes forage for anything your other fish dont eat.
