Perennials in the garden are the most valuable asset on the farm. They consistently show up when you need them to, most are pest resistant, they multiply every year, and the options seem endless. Every year I try to add 3 or more varieties to my collection with the goal to have properly blooming perennials all season.

Oh a happier note to yesterday, I did have enough foxglove seed squirreled away that I have my 1st succession seeded. I look forward to these beauties every year!

Lisianthus, oh sweet lisi’s, I placed my seed order in October with the same seed company I have used for years but this year they changed hands just as I placed my order and were sent FedEx instead of Canada Post. Since October they have been stuck at the border in import jail where I cannot get them out only the sender can, I have been dealing with this since November and now import jail is charging me $5/day for storage. I cannot even choose to abandon the order. So I don’t think I will have any of these beautiful blooms this year, and at the rate my import issues are coming along I might just have to be happy planting what ever I have in inventory for this season. I do have a few Canadian suppliers I order from and have received those seeds already, but I am really re thinking where I source my seeds, the UK imports are easier then the US!
