My first Henry lever action -an American Eagle model. I have been looking forward to a project like this for quite some time. The client wanted this engraved as a 5-year gift to one his employees. Pretty sure he'd be a great guy to work for!

Everyone was very happy how this turned out.

40mm challenge coin finished up last night. I have been complimented a few times on my custom vector designs, but I really should take some lessons in photography.

Finished up some awards (50mm challenge coins) this week. I donated materials & labour for my son's Air Cadet squadron's 65th Anniversary Gala this evening.

These are likely one the hardest coins I've had to design and engrave. At least they will be easier to produce every year going forward since the all programming has been worked out.

The original plan was to use 40mm coin blanks, but during testing I could not get the resolution that I desired for the "Hawk One Canada" on the jet -which is very small at 0.33mm tall by 3.28mm wide. I wanted to make sure this part of the project had some rendering.

Also, there is a large colour palette in the crest, and since I am limited to shades between bright polished brass and flat black in the final product, I had to make some judgement calls. Particularly on the crown where I created an offsett pattern, and the clouds where I had to use various depths to try and replicate shades.

One side display's the squadron's crest, and the other side displays artwork that was provided by one the cadets.

Finished up this fun project on Tuesday with plenty of time for a retiree's gift this weekend.

With a normal axe made of steel or stainless steel I could have gave it an annealing mark. A black mark that is smooth to the touch -very similar to what you see on silverware but with more luster.

However, since this axe was chrome plated aluminum, annealing was not an option. Instead I engraved it about 1.5mm deep, masked it up, and spayed it with a flat black.

Haven't posted any projects for a while since my spare time has been eaten up with learning how to electroplate Nickel, Black Nickel, and 24k Gold for the past few months.

Here are some samples I finished up this week. Cheap, flatbar steel that I quickly polished up (wish I polished a bit more but its a steppingstone) plated in nickel then gold. And a brass watch dial that I engraved then plated the relief cuts in Black Nickel.

All sold out of PMags at the moment! God only knows what our current Liberal government could have planned in the weeks, months, and years ahead -so I don't want to be holding an inventory that I can't resell.

However, if customers wish to send me their own blanks, then I would be more than happy to provide design and/or engraving services. And that goes for any polymer magazine (ex. G***k mags). Made these for a Saskatchewan CCFR member. He didn't have a logo all ready to go. So, with his feedback he helped me come up with this one through a few iterations of revisions. The "distressed" look of the design is not as apparent on the Pmag, but it turned out very well on his complementary 30mm challenge coin.

I'm trying to clear-out my remaining inventory of blank PMags. Great deals to be had! I can put nearly any graphic you can imagine on these. However, I won't do the CCFR logo as I'm not licensed. I made these for my local CCFR rep a few months ago.

Inquire today.
