Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory for Regina. The advisory area may see overnight lows of −1°C to +2°C, with colder pockets in low-lying areas. Take action before sunset!

🏡 Bring tender potted plants and hanging baskets indoors to a frost-free space. Tropical houseplants need warmth—not just a cover outside. Check for pests before bringing them in.

🛏️ Cover tender garden plants with frost cloth or a bedsheet before temperatures fall. Support the fabric above foliage, extend it to the ground and secure the edges. Don’t let plastic touch leaves.

🌤️ Remove covers tomorrow once temperatures rise above freezing. Covers reduce risk during light frost; they cannot guarantee protection during a hard or prolonged freeze.

🍅 Prioritize tender annuals, basil, tomatoes and peppers. Harvest ready produce. Established, locally hardy perennials and shrubs generally do not need covering for a light autumn frost.

Before following a plant-care tip, make a small identity file:
• Save the exact name from the label or product listing, including the variety if supplied.
• Take a clear photo of the whole plant and a close-up of its leaves.
• Keep its care instructions with that name. Different houseplants need different light and watering conditions.

If the label is missing or two names seem to conflict, ask for help confirming the identity before changing its care. A similar-looking leaf is a clue, not a complete identification.
