Nurturing growth. In people, in business & in the ground beneath us. 🌱 Mentorship & Education.

What an incredible day at Soil and the Sky! Our Soil Detectives got up close with mealworms, learned three ways to prep a microscope slide, tested how soil holds water, and watched carbon fizz its way out of a soil sample. Every child left with new stamps in their Soil Passport and, we hope, a few new questions about the ground beneath their feet.

Thank you to every family who joined us at Regina Central Library. Your curiosity made this session what it was. Protect the soil. Protect the future.

One of the biggest hits at The Soil Academy?

The Worm Station.

By the end of the activity, many children who had never looked closely at a worm were explaining how they help build healthy soil.

Science becomes unforgettable when children can see it, touch it, and explore it for themselves.

The next Soil Academy adventure is almost here.

Saturday, July 25
The Living World

Join us at Regina Central Library for another hands-on soil science experience filled with microscopes, living organisms, experiments, and discoveries.

Who knows what your young scientist will discover next?

They showed up. They put on their lab coats. They looked through a microscope at living organisms. They held red wrigglers in their hands. They mapped the soil food web. They tested soil samples and asked questions.

Every single one of them left knowing that the ground beneath their feet is alive. That it is one of the most complex ecosystems on the planet. And that it matters.

This is why The Soil Academy exists.

Session 2 - Soil and the Sky - is July 25th.

This Saturday, new Soil Detectives will walk through the door.
They will put on their lab coats to investigate, map out and learn that the ground beneath their feet is alive. They will discover that it is one of the most complex ecosystems on the planet. And that it matters more than almost anything we can see above it.

July 11th at 2:00 PM at Regina Central Library.
Ages 8 to 12. Drop-off welcome.

See you Saturday.

It takes nature approximately 500 years to build just one inch of healthy topsoil.
We are losing it ten times faster than that.
Most adults do not know this, and most children are never taught it. And yet the food on every plate, the carbon in every breath of air, and the stability of every ecosystem on Earth depends on what is happening in that thin layer of living soil beneath our feet.
Your child is going to discover this, but not from a textbook!

Then she turns and asks, "why does nobody know about this?"
That question is why The Soil Academy exists.
Your child deserves to ask that question.

Level 3: Soil Scientist. Test. Interpret. Conclude.

Level 4: Soil Guardian. Protect. Restore. Lead.
Your child starts as a Soil Detective and works through four levels of real hands-on soil science. Every session they go deeper. Every level they earn a certificate.
