Marjane Satrapi, Author of ‘Persepolis,’ Dies at 56

Her graphic novel series, published in English in 2003, followed an Iranian girl through the Islamic revolution and the Iran-Iraq War. The work helped millions relate to Iranians.

Alan Bradley, the author of the Flavia de Luce mysteries, has died.

RIP Alan Bradley - though he started his writing career late, he gifted us with a dozen sparkling Flavia de Luce novels. His first book, THE SWEETNESS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PIE, swept the mystery awards the year it was published. Thanks for the lovely prose.

An evening of readings from 3 exceptional Saskatchewan authors. At the Artesian for the Cathedral Cathedral Village Arts Festival! Doors at 6; authors at 7.

University of Regina Press and Spafford Books present three exceptional Saskatchewan writers: Jesse Rae Archibald Barber, Ken Wilson, and Louise Bernice Halfe Skydancer.

There will be a panel discussion about the role of the land in their writings and our efforts towards reconciliation.
