Some hot new board games have arrived and are available at ComicReaders Downtown starting Friday, October 2, 2026.

Medium is a party game we've been asked about multiple times so we're happy to see it arrive.

Smoky Mountains is the newest stand-alone board game in the very popular (and most excellent) Forest Shuffle series.

K-Pop Demon Hunters Battle for the Spotlight is a re-themed edition of Love Letter.

ComicReaders Downtown is hosting The Hobbit Commander Party this evening (September 24) at 6:30pm. The Magic Companion App Registration Code for this event: 3JNNEG5

The Hobbit Commander Party is a special Commander night where players journey toward The Lonely Mountain, taking advantage of effects on each leg of the journey. When players reach The Lonely Mountain, they can draw a card from The Hoard Deck and gain the effects of that card.

Players receive an exclusive Bilbo Luckwearer promo card for participating in this special Commander Party and the journey to The Lonely Mountain.

Players of all experience levels are welcome. We encourage players to bring more than one deck, so they have options when settling into a game. Power levels can vary, but we encourage casual play styles.

No proxies and counterfeits allowed.

$5 entry

You may have seen announcements from Wizards of the Coast that some Reality Fracture products are delayed in North America.

ComicReaders Downtown has received Reality Fracture Prerelease Packs and our three Prerelease events will happen as scheduled.

We have received Play Boosters and some of our Commander Decks and those will be available starting Friday, September 26 as part of the early release date provided to Wizards Play Network stores like ComicReaders Downtown. We have also received a very small number of Draft Night.

Here is the status of the rest of the Reality Fracture product:

- Bundle. Won't arrive for early release. Might not arrive for the release date.

- Collectors Boosters. Some of these arrived on September 24 and will be available starting September 25. Anyone that has pre-ordered with ComicReaders Downtown has been contacted.

- Secret Lair Bundle. Might not arrive for the October 23 release date.

Foundation Commander Decks: Some of these arrived on September 24 and will be available starting September 25. Anyone that has pre-ordered with ComicReaders Downtown has been contacted.

None of our orders have been cancelled as of today, but the delays are real and are affecting stores across North America in varying degrees.

If you are on our lists for pre-orders we will keep you on the lists and will reach out as product arrives. Since you never pay in advance at ComicReaders Downtown for pre-ordered Magic: The Gathering, you are certainly welcome to pass on the items when they finally arrive.

(New manga goes into the manga sections instead of onto the new release wall.) This week was a big week for new comics.
