It’s been a little while since we posted, but we’ve been super busy making beautiful floors!! This 29 year old red oak floor was getting a little worn and starting to look dated, so we pulled into 2026! We started with the most important step, sanding off the old finish and removing the bevels between the prefinished boards. Once the floor was sanded perfectly flat, we applied 3 coats of Loba 2K waterborne finish with a whitener added to give this home a contemporary up to date look with a timeless style. Removing and replacing a prefinished floor is not only unnecessary, it is reckless and irresponsible in most cases unless there is catastrophic damage from water or fire. We have even heard that a refinished floor is “inferior” to a factory finished floor! Don’t let carpet stores, and uninformed contractors steer you wrong, if you want proper advice and accurate information, come talk to the experts who have the experience and education to give you the truth on hardwood flooring!
