Yes, it’s made out of cardboard.

We’re working on a pretty cool project, and before building the final system, our team created this mock-up so we could test the buttons, wiring, programming and media playback together.

It doesn’t need to look finished yet. It needs to help us find problems, confirm the interaction and make improvements while changes are still easy to make.

A bit of cardboard and some careful testing now can save a lot of troubleshooting once the real system is built.

We can’t wait to bring this project to life and share more when we can.

Audiovisual systems are part of the construction process, even when much of the finished work is hidden behind walls and ceilings.

These in-progress photos from one of our projects show a stage that most users never see. Before the displays, microphones and control systems are installed, the project team needs to coordinate power, data, backing, conduit, cable pathways, acoustics and room layout.

Including AV early in the design-build process helps prevent rework and creates a more reliable finished space.
