🍞❤️ FOOD FOR THOUGHT FRIDAY! ❤️🍞

Did you know that The Log House Thrift Store hands out fresh bread and baked goods 3 DAYS A WEEK? 🥖🧁

One of the things that makes our community so special is the way we come together to look out for one another. And we want everyone to know that you DO NOT need to be a customer or make a purchase to access our bread program. ❤️

If you or your family could use a little extra help putting food on the table, you are always welcome to stop by and grab some fresh bread and baked goods. No purchase necessary, no pressure, and absolutely no judgment. Sometimes, a little something as simple as a loaf of bread can make a difference in someone's day.

This program wouldn't be possible without our incredible community partners Cobs Bread and Co-op Sherwood! 🫶 Thank you for helping us turn something as simple as bread into an act of kindness that reaches families in our community.

At The Log House, we believe that community is about more than just a thrift store. It's about showing up for one another, lending a hand when we can, and making sure people know they aren't alone.

❤️ And just like that… our 4 for $6 sale has officially come to an end! ❤️

As much as we wish we could keep those prices forever (because we know you all LOVE a good bargain 😉), at the end of the day, we have to make money too! We need to keep the lights on, pay the mortgage and bills 😂, keep the store running, AND continue supporting the initiatives and people in our community.

Effective today, our prices will be changing. But don’t worry, we still work hard to keep The Log House affordable, and we continue to price many of our items lower than other thrift and second-hand stores in the city.

We are incredibly grateful for the support you’ve shown us over the last few months. Seeing so many familiar faces coming through our doors, discovering treasures, chatting with us and supporting our little store has meant more than you know. ❤️

Thank you for understanding, thank you for supporting local, and most importantly… we hope to keep seeing all your lovely faces just as regularly as we have! 🥰

🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Today, The Log House Thrift Store takes a moment to remember, reflect, and listen.

Today is about honouring the children who never made it home, the Survivors who continue to carry the impacts of residential schools, and the families and communities who have endured generations of loss, pain, and injustice.

Truth must come before reconciliation. We cannot move forward without acknowledging the truth of what happened and understanding the lasting impacts it continues to have today.

As a community thrift store, we believe in the importance of community, connection, kindness, and creating a place where everyone feels welcome and valued.

Today, we encourage everyone to take time to learn, listen to Survivors and Indigenous voices, and reflect on what reconciliation can look like in our everyday lives.

🧡 Every child matters. Every story matters. Every community matters.

We remember. We honour. We listen.
We walk forward together.

Working Together to Support Our Community ❤️
Yesterday was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when community partners come together with a shared goal, supporting the people in our community.
With the help of our amazing community partners, we were able to give out an incredible 5,200 kg of chicken strips! 🐔❤️
That’s an incredible amount of food going to families, neighbours and community members who can use a little extra support.
We are incredibly grateful for the partnerships that make moments like this possible. It’s not always about what one organization can do on its own, it’s about what we can accomplish when we work together.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. We are proud to be part of a community that continues to show up, share what we have, and lift each other up. ❤️

📚💰 Learning, Budgeting & Real-Life Skills at The Log House! 💰📚
A big thank you to Cornwall Alternative School Regina Saskatchewn for bringing your students to The Log House Thrift Store for a hands-on financial literacy assignment! ❤️
We loved being part of an activity that teaches such an important real-life skill: budgeting and making thoughtful choices with your money. 🛍️💵
Thrift shopping is a great way to learn how to make your money go further, compare prices, prioritize needs and wants, and stick to a budget, all while finding some pretty great treasures along the way! 😉
We are so happy to welcome students into our store and be a small part of their learning outside the classroom. We believe our community is stronger when local organizations, schools and businesses work together to create meaningful learning opportunities.
