Guitarworks is excited to host the Calgary Guitar Collective Kick Off Event on Wednesday, Jan 14 at Guitarworks Macleod. Calgary Guitar Collective (CGC) is a new community for guitar players in the city, built around meetups, clinics, Q&A, gear talk, and actually meeting other local players.

This is the first event, and it’s the start of something we expect to grow into a regular, ongoing series of Calgary guitar nights.

CGC is founded by Dan Clayton and Matty McKay. Between them they bring a mix of gigging, teaching, recording, and music industry experience, and the goal is simple. Build a proper guitar community in Calgary that’s fun, welcoming, and worth showing up for.

Special guest for the kick off night is Russell Broom, award winning producer and guitarist (Jann Arden, Kyle McKearney).

Expect a relaxed clinic, Q&A, and time to meet other guitarists in the room. Doors are 6:30 pm. Event runs 7:00 to 9:00 pm.

Tickets are required for entry and include entry into the door prize draw. Ticket sales close Jan 13. Our Crossiron Mills Mall location has recently been permanently closed. We are excited for the big things in our future and appreciate the support over the years we operated this unique store. We are happy to continue to serve guitar lovers from all over Alberta and Canada from our Macleod Trail and Market Mall locations and our online store.
