This year, we’re celebrating 20 years of Concept, and more than ever, it’s all about the connections we make along the way 🤍✨

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with one of our favourite potters, Tarra Wedman, at her beautiful home and studio just outside Edmonton 🌿

Tarra welcomed us into her creative world and gave us a little glimpse into her process, helping each of us design and make our very own mug. ☕ And while she assured us we were getting the easy version 🤣, we quickly gained a whole new appreciation for the skill, patience and time that go into her beautiful pottery.

There was plenty of laughter, a few do-overs, lots of creativity and a whole lot of appreciation for making something with our own hands 🤎

After 20 years of celebrating artists and handcrafted design at Concept, experiences like this remind us why we love what we do. It's not just about the beautiful things people create, but the people, stories and friendships behind them.

Thank you, Tarra, for sharing your time, your talent and your beautiful space with us! 🥰 What a lovely day spent with some pretty amazing humans. Memories we'll be talking about for a long time. 🤍

One last look at September sapphires 💙✨

Sapphire may be known for that iconic deep blue, but its colour story is so much bigger.

From soft watery blues and cool denim tones to rich ocean shades and blue-greens that lean beautifully into teal, every sapphire has its own personality.

And beyond the colour, sapphire is wonderfully durable—second only to diamond on the Mohs scale—making it a beautiful choice for rings meant to be worn and loved every day.

These sapphire and diamond rings make a pretty convincing argument for ending September on a blue note 💎

Some ideas take a little longer to find the right hands. ✨

For years, I wanted to bring a more organic, handcrafted feeling into our Concept jewelry collection. Less perfect.

More sculptural. Rich with texture, movement and those little irregularities that make handmade jewelry feel so different. 🤍

I knew what I wanted it to feel like. I just couldn’t quite get it there.

Then I thought of Canadian jewellery designer and goldsmith Emma Glover.

I had admired Emma’s work for years—especially her organic approach to goldsmithing, wax carving, and handcrafted fine jewelry.

So I reached out with an idea and a bit of a long-shot question… would she collaborate with me?

She said yes! ✨

That first conversation eventually took me to Emma’s studio on Vancouver Island, BC, where sketches, wax carving, gemstones and lots of conversation began turning those ideas into something real 💎

And somewhere along the way, a jewelry design collaboration became a friendship 🤍

We’ve continued creating together ever since—including three very personal custom gold and diamond rings inspired by a Bee, a Lotus Flower and a Raven. 🐝🌸

Each one designed with meaning and brought to life by hand.

After 40 years in the jewellery industry, I still love that another artist can make you see an idea differently, take it somewhere new and teach you something along the way.

That’s the beauty of custom jewelry, traditional goldsmithing and true collaboration.

And Emma and I still have more up our sleeves… ✨
