The Crocker Hill Store, the creation of artist Steven Smith and his wife Gail, is an oasis for those with a passion for gardening, birding or art. Established in 1983, The Crocker Hill Store moved from its first home amid the Smiths' extensive gardens at Crocker Hill to nearby St. The Smiths have restored one of the town's most charming historic buildings, one of the province's first registry of deeds office, and have surrounded it with gardens that are a feast for the senses.

Thank you, Christopher Dodds, our talented nature photographer friend for this beautiful capture of Steven and his crow painting. It has been 8 years since he and Julie visited. So good to see them again.

Wildlife photography will always be my first love, but every now and then, an interesting person steps in front of the lens.

Recently, I photographed my friend Steven Smith at Crocker Hill in beautiful St. Andrews by-the-Sea. Steven is an extraordinarily gifted Canadian artist whose remarkable work combines incredible craftsmanship with artistic vision.
