I love it when customers share their vegetable growth journey!

Tomatoes are coming!

How are your plants? What will be on your table soon from your garden?

Except, with this weather we have had I’m still waiting for my first harvest - how about you?

🍓 Garden Update from Our Community

I love getting updates from local gardeners.

One customer sent me this photo of their strawberry plant, and I thought it perfectly captured the season — flowers, new fruit, and ripening berries all at once. 🍓

I also heard from someone that their tomatoes are growing slowly this year.

If yours seem behind, you’re probably not alone.

It’s been a cooler, wetter start to summer here in our area, which can slow down heat-loving plants like tomatoes and peppers. The warmer temperatures in the forecast this week should help give them a nice boost.

Gardens don’t all grow at the same pace.

Some are already producing.
Some are still establishing roots.
Both are part of the process.

How are your gardens doing so far this season?

🌧️ Rain or shine, La Cormier is open 🌱

The weather may not be cooperating today, so we squeezed everything into the garage to stay dry — but we’re here and ready for the weekend.

Building something new in a small community takes consistency, and one thing we’re committed to is showing up.

Whether the sun is shining or the rain is falling, our goal remains the same:

Helping families in our community grow even a little of their own food. 💚

If you’re out and about this morning, stop in and say hi.

🌱 Weekend Market at La Cormier 🌱

The other day I heard someone say they thought they were too late to be gardening this year.
If you’ve been thinking that— you’re not!

There is still plenty of time to grow something this season.

You don’t need a big garden to get started — even a few herbs, a tomato plant, or one planter on your deck can make a difference.

That’s something I’ve come to appreciate more and more: growing food doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Small steps and small ways count too.

This weekend, La Cormier is open with a fresh selection of plants and local products.

Helping families in our community grow even a little of their own food. 💚

One thing that surprised me this week was realizing how many people know about La Cormier Garden Centre & Local Market.

When we started, it was just an idea and a few tables set up in a tent now a garage. Most weekends I'm focused on watering plants, making signs, answering questions, and figuring out what to grow next.

Sometimes it's easy to forget that people are noticing.

This week was a good reminder that they are.

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by, followed along, shared a post, or encouraged us along the way.

We're still learning, still growing, and still working toward our goal of helping families in our community grow even a little of their own food.

Out of curiosity, what are you growing this year?

🌱 Garden Day Weather 🌱

It might be a little cloudy and damp today, but these are often some of the best days to get things done in the garden.

The soil is easier to work, plants experience less transplant stress, and a little rain can be a welcome help after planting.

If you’re out working on flower beds, raised beds, vegetables, or simply checking on the garden after the cool nights this week, don’t be discouraged by a few browned leaves. Give plants a little time and watch for healthy new growth.

We’re open today at La Cormier Garden Centre & Local Market with:

🍓 Strawberry plants
🍅 Patio tomatoes and peppers
🌸 Pollinator hanging baskets
🌿 Herbs and garden favourites
🥚 Fresh local eggs
🍯 Local honey and maple syrup

Whether you’re gardening today or just out for a drive between showers, stop by and say hello 👋
