Our St. Catharines store is a voluntary, non-denominational Christian organization op

erating thrift stores across Canada to generate revenue for Bible League Canada and its work of Bible placement, while serving people locally with dignity and respect by demonstrating the love of Christ. Mission Thrift Store - Core Values & Principles

The MTS family is made up of several different groups, but all groups work together and have a common focus. MTS is a volunteer-driven, non-denominational Christian organization that operates thrift stores across Canada. There are several different focuses in the MTS mission, all of which are equally important. At MTS, volunteers play a crucial role in the success of our organization. Thrift Store volunteers are made up of all ages and denominations, and their contributions vary anywhere from a couple hours a week to full-time participation. We aim to create a place where volunteers feel in community with one another and a place where people enjoy coming to help us in our mission. We also hope that our volunteers serve the local people with dignity and respect. Another focus is being good stewards of the earth God has given us. It is imperative that all our stores are environmentally conscious, and follow what is outlined in our “Green for the Gospel” platform (see Going Green to Spread the Gospel). Mission Thrift Stores convert donated used goods into cash so that MTS Foundation (Canada) may, in a Ministry Partnership with Bible League Canada, transform people through the Living Word of God. Our hope is that the MTS family, and the partnership between MTS Foundation (Canada) and Bible League Canada, will continue to aid in the distribution of Scripture into countries around the world. We believe the Bible to be the infallible Word of the Triune God; therefore, MTS aids in worldwide Bible placement. The hope is that in all aspects of our organization, Christ’s love will be exemplified.

We want to make our community aware that in the early morning hours of June 2nd, our store experienced a break-in. All available video footage and evidence have been submitted to the Niagara Regional Police, and we are actively cooperating with their investigation. To protect the integrity of that process, we will not be sharing additional details at this time.

What matters most is this: we are open, we are moving forward, and our mission remains unchanged. Since the incident, we have taken additional steps to strengthen our security and further protect our staff, volunteers, customers, and the donations entrusted to us. While someone chose to target our store, they did not weaken our purpose, our resolve, or our commitment to this community.

Every day, this organization exists because of people who believe in helping others. That work continues today just as it did yesterday. A break-in may have interrupted a night, but it will not interrupt our mission. We stand firm, we continue to grow stronger, and we remain committed to serving our community with the same dedication and determination as always.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support, encourage, donate, shop, volunteer, and stand alongside us. The mission goes on. 🫶💪
