We called our needlecraft business Magic Hour in recognition of all those stitchers who have to wait till their last meeting is done, their last customer is cared for, the kids are in bed, and whatever else is on your plate, to finally sit down for that "magic hour" of peace and quiet when needle and thread meet fabric.

We are very excited about knitting at Fairview Mall tomorrow for World-Wide Knitting in Public day! We'll be there from 10 am to 3 pm, and we are going to make it a really fun day, with giveaways, games, and we're bringing some fresh new yarns for you to try out. Bring your knitting or crochet (or any other needlecraft if you prefer, and settle in for good sit'n knit. There are lots of shops at Fairview to browse through, and lots of food court offerings for your lunch. Hope to see you there!
By the way, of course Serena will still be on duty at the shop, and if you prefer to knit there, she'll be glad to make you some coffee or a nice cuppa tea.

Come join us for World-Wide Knit In Public Day! Drop in to our big table under the skylight in the food court at Fairview Mall on Geneva Street in St. Catharines. We'll be there from 10 am to 3 pm, just sittin' and knittin'. So bring your yarncraft project and settle in for some great sharing and caring. The light is perfect, it's nice and cool, and there are lots of places to choose from for your lunch! We'll have a basket of random yarns and needles to keep your hands busy if you don't have it with you. Of course, the shop and the Happy Stitching Lounge will be open too.

Our friend and Sweater Class student Sherry has finished her sweater project! This gorgeous yoke sweater was knitted in the soft and lovely "Inspired" by Patons, a wool/acrylic wool blend yarn, Sherry is delighted with the fit and feel of her first sweater in decades! Congratulations, Sherry! You did a great job, and it looks beautiful on you!

New things are afoot at Magic Hour! As of May 1st we will be starting The Magic Hour Silent Reading Club! So, from 9:15am till 10:15am every Friday we gather in the Lounge and read quietly for an hour in a group of silent readers. We don't put on music but we will make you coffee! So, bring a book and we'll see you in the Happy Stitching Lounge!

Ignore the snow that is now falling outside and remember that spring is inevitable, even when it's slow in coming. This week we have officially turned the corner to spring and we look forward to Easter next weekend and time with family. We wish you the same!
Please note that we will be CLOSED on Good Friday and Easter Sunday next week.

Have you ever taken one of the knitting classes at Magic Hour? Noobie Knitters, Sweater Class, and Toe-Up Socks are fun and informative courses that you'll enjoy! (And watch for the Fair Isle Knitting class coming soon!)
And now, we have a new Group for Graduates! It's "hidden" and "private", so it is only accessible by invitation, and nobody can see it except members. We're inviting anyone who has taken one of our classes to message me so I can invite you.
It's a great forum to post pictures of your finishes, or Works in Progress, ask for advice, connect with classmates, and get first crack at sales and promos. And don't forget to check your SPAM filter for an email, too!
