Don't be frightened of Sneezeweed! It's not going to throw you into an allergic fit—the name comes from its historical use of being dried and inhaled, which we don't suggest you do unless you're looking to... well, sneeze!

It's a late-season burst of colour that's about as resilient as they come. The deer hate it, the bees love it—what else could you want?

I know nobody wants to hear it, but we are slowly heading towards... FALL!

As the garden starts to shift toward the end of the summer, Mums are one of the easiest ways to add some fresh colour to your porch, steps, or garden beds! Ours are all grown here at Canada Green and ready to brighten things up for another season!

Our hibiscus trees are starting to show their first blooms of the year which got me thinking - maybe you’re looking for a new statement piece for your garden!

They produce their famous flowers in late summer and the tree form gives you a great vertical statement without taking up a huge footprint - great for when you need to grow UP instead of WIDE!

They bloom in shades of pink, red, and white, and the tree form makes a really nice focal point or as accent where a lot of other plants are starting to slow down.

Clethra is starting to show off it's blooms! Also known as Summersweet, Clethra usually starts to flower in mid-to-late summer when a lot of other shrubs are starting to slow down. Its fragrant white or pink flowers are especially popular with bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds and it does well in consistently moist soil, making it a great choice for those spots that are a little too damp for other shrubs! An added bonus: it's also happy in part shade, so you don't need a full-sun location to enjoy the blooms!

Whether you're making a fresh salad, seasoning something for the grill, or just want to have a few herbs growing right outside the kitchen, we've got plenty to choose from - and i'd say they all go well with some tomatoes from our u-pick! ;)

Have a wet spot where you've always thought about planting a willow, but don't really want a tree taking over the space? Maybe you just want something with an incredibly unique looking bloom? Well, you should get to know the Buttonbush!

This compact variety of our native buttonbush grows to about 5–6' tall and wide, making it a much more manageable option for those damp areas of the garden. It produces unusual round white flowers throughout the summer that are loved by bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, and the foliage stays attractive right through the season. It can handle consistently moist soil and occasional flooding, so it's a great option for those low, wet spots where many other shrubs struggle!

Who doesn't know and love roses?! However, if you didn't know about these Canadian-bred beauties, now's the time to get familiar! Campfire roses are one of our favourites for its changing colours - the blooms open yellow and gradually turn pink and red, so you'll often have several colours on the same plant at once! Winnipeg Parks is a hardy, compact rose with beautiful deep pink blooms and a long flowering season, making it a great choice for smaller spaces and Aurora Borealis brings large, soft pink blooms and a classic rose shape to the garden, with repeat blooms throughout the summer! And, of course, the hardy as can be Canadian Shield rose is an excellent choice for those of you wanting some traditional red blooms!
