Fort of Gold

For many years the words Dún an Óir hung over the entryway of this early 1900's home. Perhaps a nod to a castle in Cork that was majestically perched on a cliff.

Now a mighty new door is placed here - custom built for this stone fortress, located in Rothesay, NB

(translates to Fort of Gold)

Compression and release.

An intentional detail of many MCM homes is a secluded entryway which then opens into a space with vaulted ceilings – delivering a tension that dissipates into an emotional “wow” factor ✨

The entryways in these homes are not grand exhibition spaces, but carefully considered thresholds that naturally guide guests into the organic flow of the home.

We'll be replacing a few more elements in this home and I'll gladly capture how this all works together.
