Welcome to Melissa’s Cakes! 👋✨
Hi everyone! I thought it was about time to put a face to the name and share a little bit of the heart (and busy life!) behind the buttercream.
I’m Melissa—the self-taught cake decorator, sports mom, coffee lover, and baker behind Melissa’s Cakes!
🍰 How It All Started:
What started as baking custom treats for family and friends turned into a full-blown passion. During my last maternity leave, I decided to dive headfirst into learning new techniques, expanding my skills, and turning my hobby into a growing small business. There is nothing I love more than taking your ideas and turning them into edible artwork for your biggest celebrations!
🏡 Behind the Scenes:
Family Chaos: Life at home is wonderfully full! I’m a mom to 4 kiddos (12, 10, 7, and 2) plus 2 step-kiddos (14&22).
Sports Sidelines: When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll usually find me cheering from the stands, courts, or rinks. Between baseball, hockey, basketball, and boxing, our family calendar is always packed!
Serving Others: Day-to-day, I work full-time supporting adults in a day center facility, as well as providing private support services. I’m also huge on community fundraising—I truly believe in putting a little extra good out into the world whenever I can.
The Daily Fuel: A strong cup of coffee, tending to my houseplant collection, and currently working on a personal health journey to be the best, most energized version of myself!
