🎨 CALL FOR ARTISTS: City Market 150th Anniversary Mural
The City of Saint John is inviting professional artists and artist teams to help celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Saint John City Market.
We’re commissioning a new public mural to be installed on two exterior arch structures along Germain Street, with a vibrant public unveiling planned for October 2026.
Artists are encouraged to propose concepts that reflect the Market’s history, community spirit, and cultural significance, or present creative alternative visions that capture the character of this iconic civic landmark.
📄 Full project details, site information, submission requirements, and evaluation criteria are available in the CALL FOR ARTISTS: Saint John City Market 150th Anniversary Mural document on our website: https://saintjohn.ca/en/arts-and-culture/call-artists-saint-john-city-market-150th-anniversary-mural
🗓 Submission Deadline: September 4, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Atlantic Time
📬 The selection committee will review all submissions and notify the successful artist(s) by mid‑September as this fast‑moving project progresses toward the October unveiling.
