We consider it very much a privilege, and an honour and appreciate the opportunity to support music in the Shuswap Okanagan. Like many others, growing up in Salmon Arm, I realized early, the importance of music in our lives both for entertainment and healing and having good teachers, tutors and a good place to get resources is vital. We want Salmon Arm to know we are here for you. The incredibly
rich music culture of Salmon Arm would not be here if it weren’t for the time and efforts spent by Salmon Arm Folk Music Society, the Salmon Arm Jazz Club and efforts of individuals like Sandy Cameron, Lody Kieken, Dirk Kiy, David Gonella, Brian Pratt Johnson, Gordon Waters, Rich Thorne, Craig Newnes, Jim Johnston, Jim Cooperman, Ted Crouch, Larry Keats musical therapy, Jordan Dick, Michelle Honcoop Reid, Tom Brighouse and many many others etc
Acorn Music has been part of all of these musical stories and we want to make sure that we continue it the same way. We believe it is extremely important for Salmon Arm to have a good music store at its core. Music is a lifelong journey that begins in the womb. Early foundations are laid in school which develop with a lifelong commitment. We want to continue to support and nurture each individual journey and follow in the footsteps of our music forefathers. Together, we will grow both as musicians and as a community spreading music as love and enriching the lives of our family, friends’, children, students and neighbours. We appreciate the amazing support that Salmon Arm has given us and will continue to provide outstanding service, because it is our passion. Whether you need reeds, a tuba, a quick repair or a listening ear for your new recording, Come on down and say hello!
