Can’t wait to read this one!

After the national bestseller, The Berry Pickers stole readers' hearts. Author Amanda Peters returns with her latest novel following one woman as she confronts buried truths, lost love and the fragile future she alone must protect. Here’s why bookseller Angela Torgerson from McNally Robinson Booksellers in love with this story:

[The Birthing Tree is a quietly compelling yet intensely emotional novel. The novel follows the journey of a young woman as she seeks to uncover long-buried family secrets and come to terms with herself and her legacy, all while feeling the pull of the Mi'kmaq traditions that call to her. A lush and beautiful read with a main character, Atiel, that you will be unable to let go of when the last page is read!]

The Birthing Tree is now available. Find it at your local indie bookstore at indiebookstores.ca

Join us as we host Elder Bill Jones and Karen Moe as they present their book Listening Once Again to Our Great Mother.

Weaving together the stories of Elder Bill’s personal life and that of his ancestors with elder teachings, settler feminism, and the inspirational account of the Fairy Creek Blockades – the largest act of civil disobedience in Canada – Listening Once Again to Our Great Mother shares wisdom to inspire readers to achieve their own self-awakening, now and for generations to come.

All are welcome, please join us in the Library Community Program Room on September 22nd at 7pm.
