A beautiful look back at a July morning here at Lavender & Black

Folklore Studio Collective recently shared a journal featuring their visit to our Salt Spring Island farm, when their family joined us for a morning of lavender harvesting, small-batch distilling, and photographing the process along the way.

Their story captures so many of the quieter details behind what we do: harvesting by hand, working amongst the trees and pollinators, and watching freshly cut lavender make its way from the field to the still.

A small golden flower with a remarkable story. 🌼

Helichrysum, also known as Immortelle, has long been used in botanical skincare for its ability to soothe, renew, and support healthy-looking skin. This year, the warm weather had other plans; harvest came early at Lavender & Black on Salt Spring Island, and we jumped in to meet it.
