Are you bringing your tropicals indoors for the winter? 🌿
The nighttime temperatures are starting to drop, and we’ve got some beautiful daytime temperatures this week — ideal for prepping your plants and moving them indoors before the cold really sets in. ❄
Steps & Precautions:
👀Inspect carefully – Check leaves (top and underside), stems, and soil for pests like aphids, spider mites, mealybugs, or scale.
🚿Clean them up – Hose the plant thoroughly outdoors, wipe leaves, and remove any dead or yellowing foliage.
🧴 Treat if needed – Spray with Safer's Insecticidal soap or if you are looking for an alternative option, castille soap diluted with water is an excellent option.
🌥Acclimate gradually – Move plants to a shadier outdoor spot for a few days first so the sudden drop in light isn’t too shocking.
✂️Prune if desired – Trim back leggy growth to make them more manageable indoors.
🪴 Find the right spot – Place near a bright window and keep away from cold drafts and heat vents.
💦Adjust care – Water less often (let the top inch of soil dry out)
