To Our Community,
This is to confirm that The Salvation Army will be permanently closing its Thrift Store operations at 122 Christina St. N. in Sarnia effective September 30, 2026. Donations will no longer be accepted as of September 16, 2026.
Following a careful operational review, The Salvation Army made the difficult decision to close its Thrift Store operations as it was determined that the long-term financial sustainability of the store is no longer viable, particularly given the presence of several other gently used clothing and houseware resale shops operating within the community.
The Salvation Army Sarnia Thrift Store management and staff are grateful for the support of donors and shoppers throughout the many years the store was in operation.
The Salvation Army recognizes the impact a closure may have on employees, volunteers, shoppers and donors and is grateful for the support the Sarnia community has provided over the years.
The Salvation Army remains committed to the Sarnia community. The closure affects the Thrift Store only; The Salvation Army's ministry and social service programs will continue in the community.
As The Salvation Army's mission continues in Sarnia and the surrounding area, we remain steadfast in our commitment to giving hope, practical support and compassionate care to those in need.
