The daughter of an immigrant and a refugee, her art reflects a deep reverence for the land and plants of Treaty 6 Territory on which she lives and works.

Monika’s recent work focuses intimately on ecology and her kinship to the natural world, while her practice has expanded to include alternative photographic processes, natural materials, poetry, and sound. A recipient of SK Arts and Canada Council grants, her award winning work has been published, exhibited, commissioned, and is in private collections locally, nationally, and internationally.
