A fly shop isn't just a fly shop.

Sure, it's where you pick up a new fly line, a spool of thread, or the materials for the next pattern you want to tie. Maybe it's where you stop in for a little local intel before heading to the lake.

But over the years, I've learned things are rarely that simple.

Sometimes the shop is the meeting place before heading to the pub. It's where stories are told, friendships are made, and plans for the next trip somehow become bigger than the last.

It's where people celebrate the big one, laugh about the one that got away, and convince themselves that next weekend will be THE weekend.

But sometimes...

Sometimes it's a place to escape the weight of the day. A little retail therapy. A coffee. A conversation.

I've lost track of how many chats have started with fly fishing and ended somewhere completely different.

Work.

Family.

Relationships.

Loss.

Mental health.

Life.

The truth is, most of us are carrying something.

I'm not saying I have the answers, but I've had my own battles too. I've spent a lot of time fighting my own mind. I call him Bradly... and some days he's a righteous prick.

Opening up isn't for everyone, and that's okay.

If you ever need someone to listen, the door's open.

If there's one thing I hope people take away from Purity Fly Co., it's that people leave with a little more confidence than they came with.

Sometimes that confidence comes from learning a new knot, landing your first trout, or finally figuring out what's happening in your cast.

Sometimes it comes from realizing you didn't have to carry the weight of the day by yourself.

That's what community is.

It's about growing as anglers.

And it's about trying to leave a little better than we came.

Whether you're stopping in for a spool of thread, a handful of flies, some advice, or just a conversation...

You're always welcome here.

Because this place isn't just about fishing.

Sometimes the hatch is provided by the province.

I've found trout-fingerling imitations can be a deadly option on Saskatchewan stocked trout lakes.

This little rainbow took my 2.5" feather-wing streamer, pictured in the second slide, tied to imitate a brookie or splake.

Brookies, splake, browns, tigers, rainbows—it turns out they all make a pretty convincing meal.

Thank you Saskatchewan Fish Hatchery for all the work you do!
