Capturing the plants essences, I am working on a project to capture the scents of different plants, mostly basil. I am also working on a line of natural watercolor paint. The scent difference between Siam queen basil and regular Thai basil is mind blowing and each holds so many layers of fragrance.

What does it mean to capture the essence of a plant? This is perilla a plant used most often in Japan and Korea and is part of the basil family. I am using it to make water color paint and going to make some sorta culinary treasure of plant so I can save some and use it after summer.
