Herb of the week is delphinium~Delphinium elatum, a perennial flower and member of the Ranunculaceae family, also known as larkspur.
The name "delphinium" is derived from the Greek word "delphin," meaning "dolphin," which is a nod to the flower's distinctive shape, which resembles the graceful leaps of these marine creatures. In ancient times, delphiniums were believed to have potent medicinal properties and were used to treat a variety of ailments, from headaches to respiratory issues.
Historically, delphinium was used to treat intestinal worms, fluid retention, poor appetite, and insomnia as a sedative to cause relaxation. Although no longer used internally, in some instances, it is still applied topically.
It's important to note that,

**all parts of the plant are highly toxic and fatal if ingested

Magically, witches have used delphinium for warding and banishing. Dried bundles were historically hung over doors to repel malevolent spirits, thieves, and unwanted influences. Planted in gardens to protect your home, bathed in to remove psychic attachments, or hung above the bed to safeguard from psychic attacks and malevolence.

We are now in the cycle of Blue Moon. Now believed to be the second reoccurring full moon placed within a month of the Gregorian calendar. The Blue Moon is sometimes referred to as the wishing Moon due to its seldom appearance in our lunar cycle. Witches will often reserve magic of wishcraft ( witchcraft) for this special occasion.

Over the past lunar year, we have heard your wishes here and as such we are altering our lunar cycle baths to contain just the bath bauble of old and no longer have them as an entire ritual.

For this blue moon, we have compiled a beautiful blend of local handpicked black malva flower, with butterfly pea flower, sea salt, and essential oils of palmarosa, grapefruit, Orange, and Linden absolute. Including nourishing organic Baobab oil and soft sweet pea hydrosol.

On this moon cycle, make a wish and see what is revealed in your bauble 🌠

Herb of the week is Catnip ~Nepeta cataria, a plant famous for the excitement it creates in cats but incredible for the calm it brings in humans.

Most Catnip you find in pet shops these days is ground fine, releasing all the yummy oils before it even gets to your cat, not to mention sits in warehouses for goodness knows how long. If your feline familiar hasn't tried our Catnip yet, why!!!??

Catnip is a wonderful nervine that is safe to use with children and adults. It has a calming, sedative effect and can even help ease fussiness in children; it promotes sleep and is good for reducing digestive upset and helps dispel gas. In addition to its nervine and bitter actions, catnip helps promote sweating, brings down fevers, and is commonly used with herbs like boneset and yarrow to treat flu symptoms.

One of our favorite uses for this plant is its ability in addressing the kind of stress and anxiety that stores in the body when people can’t express their emotions. Perfect for someone who isn’t able to tell the boss or the in-law just what they’d like to say because it's a little too spicy or ' impolite'~ meeeoww 😸🐈‍⬛️
