Have you ever tried gooseberries before? 🍇🍒

If you haven't, you're missing out! When fully ripe, these small berries have an amazing flavor profile. Like a delicious crossover between a sweet cherry and a juicy grape.

They're super easy to fit into your yard, too. The shrubs are nice and compact, needing only about 5 feet of space in each direction. While they'll produce plenty of fruit on their own, planting them near currants gives your harvest an extra boost!

There are those who come into our lives and instantly make the world a brighter, warmer place. For everyone who visited the greenhouse, Charlie was exactly that.

He may no longer be by our side, but his memory is planted firmly in our hearts forever. Charlie had a very simple, beautiful mission every single day: to welcome everyone with a wagging tail and to love absolutely anyone who would stop to give him a pat on the head.

He was the heartbeat of the greenhouse, the ultimate supervisor, and a constant reminder to slow down and enjoy the sunshine. Whether he was greeting regular customers, keeping the staff company, or just napping in his favorite spots, he brought endless smiles to every single person he met.

Rest easy, sweet boy. You are so incredibly missed. 🤎🐾

What an incredible experience at the beginning of this month! We had the privilege of heading to Montreal for an action-packed week, and we are still buzzing with inspiration.

Over the course of just a day and a half, we hit the ground running to tour 7 fantastic garden centres across the Greater Montreal Area. Seeing how other independent garden centres innovate, display, and connect with their communities was incredibly valuable.

When we weren't out in the community, we were expanding our horizons in a series of fantastic workshops and soaking in the culture, beautiful sights, and delicious food of Montreal.

A massive thank you to the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA) for putting together such a seamless, inspiring, and world-class event. We returned home with a ton of fresh ideas and cannot wait to put them into action!

A couple of weeks ago, a group of us spent a wonderful afternoon giving back to a local organization very close to our hearts: Haven Kids' House!

We rolled up our sleeves to transform their garden space:

Removed an overgrown shrub & planted a beautiful Bird’s Nest Spruce.

Upgraded a high-maintenance w**d bed into a clean, modern river rock bed.

Our favorite part? The new river rock bed is now a blank canvas! Kids visiting the house can paint their own vibrant, custom rocks to add to the garden. 🎨🪨

For 50 years, Haven Kids' House has provided vital crisis intervention and respite care to keep children safe and support families. We are so grateful to support their incredible mission!
