✨ W E L C O M E ✨
Hey! If you're new here, welcome! 🤍
I'm Makayla (but almost everyone calls me Mak)!
If you've ever wondered who's behind Algoma Makers Market... hi! It's me. 👋
I'm the owner, organizer, social media manager, event planner, email responder, vendor coordinator, problem solver, and the person you'll usually see running around with an iced chai in one hand and a layout in the other on market day!
Outside of the markets, I'm a mom to three amazing little boys and the owner of Little Sunflowers & Co. Building businesses, creating community, and supporting local makers are truly my biggest passions.
I started Algoma Makers Market in 2021 with one simple goal: reconnecting our community with local makers, artists, and small businesses. What started as a little market with just 20 vendors has grown into events featuring 250+ local businesses, thousands of shoppers, amazing community partnerships, and opportunities for hundreds of makers to share what they create.
Along the way, we opened the Algoma Makers Collective, partnered with incredible organizations across the city, and built a community that truly believes in shopping local.
One thing many people don't realize is that when I say "we"... it's usually just me. 🤍 Every vendor application, social media post, event layout, sponsorship package, email, sign, and behind-the-scenes detail is created with so much love. It's a lot of work, but seeing this community come together makes every late night worth it.
Whether you're a shopper, vendor, sponsor, or someone who's simply liked or shared one of my posts—you've helped make this dream possible!
Thank you for supporting local.
Thank you for supporting small businesses.
And thank you for supporting mine.
I have some really exciting things planned for the rest of 2026, and I can't wait to welcome you to the next market!
With so much gratitude,
Mak 🤍
