When I was little, I couldn’t wrap my head around how so many people could follow Hitler’s orders to destroy an entire group of human beings. How he convinced people to hate others so deeply that they became okay not only with their deaths, but with causing those deaths themselves.
It is one of history’s greatest tragedies. A period that still stands as a deep stain on Germany. A chapter we are all supposed to learn from.
Canada, where I live, may have our own problems to solve. We aren't free of obstacles and challenges , and we are far from perfect. However, To my neighbours-* Yes you-*Those living in the United States of America, what is happening? As a neighbour, a friend, and ally to those who are leading lives of love, I ask sincerely, "What in God's name is happening over there?"
Some people may say that Canada should stay out of it, it doesn't affect us. But if my neighbours house is on fire I will want to help them, but I am also going to be concern that this fire will spread if it is nurtured. .
This fire looks like leaders bragging about takeovers.
It looks like the normalization of violence.
It looks like the spreading of hate toward people whose skin is not white.
It looks like misogyny
It looks like the loss of freedom and rights
What happened to Renee Nicole Good was a tragedy.
What scares me, is how so many can defend a man who clearly misused his power in an act of anger.
The hatred spewing out of his mouth is undeniable. He calls her a B* AFTER executing her. If I were scared for my life, and there was absolutely no alternative but to shoot, I'd feel traumatized. I'd feel heartbroken and disgusted, because taking a life is not something you walk away from casually like he did. I could never use that time to spew an insult. What darkness does it take to treat someone’s life as expendable?
And then we see countless people in the comments saying she deserved it.
Not because she was a threat to his life—
but because she was “disrespectful.”
Let that sink in.
Not dangerous.
Not violent.
Not armed.
Just rude.
"Well, she shouldn't have been disrespectful, what did she think would happen?"
or I've seen, "This would not have happened if she was being a mother at home".
You should not be executed on the streets for peacefully protesting, or even for being sassy! Value a free country! Don't forget what that is!
You should not be killed for having an attitude.
You should not be killed because you are Black.
Or Brown.
Or a woman.
Or because your hair is dyed purple.
When violence is normalized, when good people stand quiet, when there's talk of going door to door to find people... well, we know how this one plays out, right?
And this is not just about Renee. This is about the many people who have disappeared due to ICE and their untraceable system. 1,200 people gone....WHAT??
And when I asked as a child, "How could so many people just follow him?" I didn't expect the answer was just that so many people are really deep down that hateful.
That's heartbreaking.
We have to be LOUDER for the side of compassion and humanity.
This isn't politics to me, it's about humanity.
It is heavy, especially for those of us who feel so deeply. Please keep speaking out, don't keep quiet. Because the silence brings them no accountability, no shame.. It gives them the echo chamber they desire to feel safe.
Share posts, share experiences, write blogs, go out and protest, and the most important thing- If you have children....teach them compassion. Teach them to love the smallest of creatures. They are our future. We need healers, peacekeepers, and philanthropists.
We need heroes and people who do good for the sake of good.
We are not few and far between, we are being silenced and pushed into the shadows while the slime oozes its way out.
Let's step into the light, let's spread that light and love around, and ensure that violence is called out.
Light and love is more powerful than hate.
Again, this is not politics... this is HUMANITY. I speak out because I should.
Much love to you all, wherever you are in the world. You deserve safety, freedom, love, and comfort. May you and your family stay safe. Know that your loved ones in spirit are watching over you, supporting and guiding you. Listen to your intuition, your compassion, and your own higher self.
Please note:This is a safe space to express your fears, to vent, to talk about what is happening. Hate, violence, and racism will not be tolerated in any form.
