Tottie's Crafts carries the incredible art of Richard Smith "worlds within worlds" Richard is based in Port Maitland, SW Nova Scotia. He fills his beach found shells with resin, handpainting a scene between layers of the resin. He then cuts a hole in the back of the shell, so that sunlight can shine thru. Richard has been practising his craft for over 20 years and it may take up to 6 hours for each creation. Drop in and have a look at all of our inventory by local artisans. Bags! and more Bags! Tottie's Crafts has bags, totes and felted purses in many shapes and sizes, thanks to the creativity of Mona Foged of Rockland and Judith O'Brien of Jordan Ferry. Tottie's Crafts is gearing up for the Bluenose weekend!! We have lots of items made by local artisans, plus from around the Atlantic Provinces. So, drop in and have a look at all of our inventory. Our regular hours are 10 am to 4 pm, Tuesday to Saturday and this Sunday, we are extending our hours from 10 am to 4 pm for the "Bluenose" visitors.

Janet Stritychuk, our resident artist, has been painting up a storm lately--- Two acrylic ones, "Salt Marshes at Locke's Island" and the Sandy Point Lighthouse. plus another watercolour with sailboats, "Sailboats, Shelburne, NS" will be available at Tottie;s Crafts later today, the 11th of August. Janet Stritychuk is a Canadian artist who fulfilled her dream of moving to Nova Scotia after having lived and worked across our vast country for many years. Tottie's Crafts carries her paintings and they reflect many aspects of the local landscape. The 'visual world' remains her greatest passion and she works in various media including ink, watercolour, acrylics and oils. So, drop in and have a look at all of our inventory by local artisans. Jennifer Hunter repurposes silver dinnerware pieces into bracelets, rings, earrings, necklaces and windchimes. So, drop in and have a look at all of our inventory by local artisans. Local author Lana Shupe has joined the Tottie's Crafts family.!!! Today, Lana brought in her 4 children's books "The Lonely Little Lighthouse" "The Hippie Pirates" " The Little Church beside the Sea" and "The Book Witch" to the shop. They are shelved and ready to be sold. So, drop in and have a look at all of our inventory by local artisans and authors. Tottie's Crafts is pleased to be selling Deanne Fitzpatrick's rug hooking kits, Deanne, who has her studio in Amherst, NS. ,was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2023, for her “contributions to the advancement and recognition of rug hooking as an art form.” Her kits contain all you need to complete the design--hook, pattern on burlap and wool. We have a number of different designs in stock. We also carry embroidery hoops that are the perfect size for these kits. Drop in and have a look at all of our inventory by local artisans. Well, some of us want time off from the kitchen, but if you have to spend time there, Tottie's Crafts has the supplies to make it a bit more practical and homey. An assortment of aprons,( adult and children's) and tea cozies by Judith O'Brien from Jordan Ferry. Microwave bowl cozies, microwave potato bags and handknit dish cloths by Paula Forbes of Sable River. An assortment of jams by Verna Roache-Williams of Osborne Harbour. Handwoven placemats and runners, kitchen towels, baskets and hotpads by Germaine Osborn in Sable River. And to top it off, pottery, pewter and wooden items to enhance your dining experience.
